There have been over 2,000 mass shootings since the 2012 attack in Sandy Hook. When these senseless tragedies occur, hospitals must rely on the blood supply that’s already on the shelves to save as many lives as possible. The American Red Cross urgently needed a way to emphasize the value of donating in advance, while being respectful to not exploit any specific event. The resulting story features non-actors who portray the average citizens as first responders, performing an act of selflessness that often goes unnoticed.
